A quick interview with Carla Pohl, 4th Place Women’s Transformation in the New Year 2016 Challenge!

Q: Give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.

Before the challenge i was already active.my journey began almost 2 years ago when I started dating Meyer du Plessis (previous men’s weight-loss winner). He begun his fitness regime and dragged me along (thankfully).

Q: What prompted you to join the Ultimate You Transformation Challenge?

This is actually my third Sleekgeek challenge. I decided to try it for myself after my bf’s great success a year ago.

Q: Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.

I basically follow paleo and a bit of Banting over the weekends.

Q: Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.

Loads of CrossFit.

Q: If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?

  1. Never give up, it takes a bit but u will get there eventually.
  2. Drink water, tons of it.
  3. Find a partner to enjoy it with because it makes it so much easier.

Q: What did you find most valuable about your experience?

Most valuable bit of this experience is that it bring me and my bf closer as we compete and train  together, becoming a power couple.

I also couldn’t have done it without my friends, Rhiannon and Paul. They inspired us so much and the way they supported me throughout this journey is incredible!  You need good friends and a supportive partner.
