A quick interview with Dimitri Georgeadonis, 5th Place Men’s Transformation in the New Year 2016 Challenge!
Q: Give us a short history of your journey to health and fitness before the challenge.
Before joining the Ultimate You Challenge I had not trained for months. I was gaining weight and lacked the energy and motivation to get myself to the gym.
Q: What prompted you to join the Ultimate You Transformation Challenge?
I decided to join the challenge as I needed something to motivate me to start training and eating correctly.
Q: Give us a quick overview of the nutrition and eating plan that you followed during the challenge.
I followed a high protein low carb diet and minimized junk food, take always and carbs. I also eliminated all alcohol from my diet.
Q: Give us a quick overview of the training and exercise plan that you followed during the challenge.
I did weight training 3 – 4 x per week and did 10 minutes cardio post workout. I did a “cardio only” day once per week and spent about 40 – 60 minutes doing cardio only on this day.
Q: Did you use any supplements or do anything else worth mentioning to help you get results?
I drank a protein shake after every workout to help assist with muscle recovery.
Q: If you could give 3 pieces of advice to future challengers, what would they be?
- Plan in advance.
- Train first thing in the morning.
- Minimize your carb and alcohol intake (and join the challenge!)
Q: What did you find most valuable about your experience?
I realized that in order to succeed I need something to motivate me and I will be entering as many challenges as I can going forward. I have a lot more energy and am feeling great about myself!
